Modesto Institute for Continued Learning is one of the first community college-based learning in retirement institutes on the West Coast. We were chartered in February, 1986.

Our classes vary in format with lecture, study groups and discussion modes using college resource individuals. We also schedule field trips to such places as San Francisco, Sacramento and Fresno. Some of our current classes are "Around the World", a travel class, "Great Music of the Romantic Period" which utilizes a videotaped lecture series, a writing class and a current events class.

A year ending celebratory luncheon is held each May, catered by the college's vocational food service program students as their final exam.
